The NHS COVID-19 app is a free application for your mobile phone or tablet and enables you to see if you could be at risk from coronavirus.
It is part of the NHS’ ‘Test and Trace’ system to monitor the spread of the virus and effectively contact those who may have been exposed.
The NHS COVID-19 app helps the NHS to understand how quickly the virus is spreading in different areas. It is important to note that the app tracks the virus, not individuals.
The app notifies users when they have come into contact with someone who ends up testing positive for coronavirus. It also allows people to report their symptoms, order a coronavirus test, and check into venues by scanning a QR code to help further track the virus.
The app is completely anonymous, and no one will be notified who you are or where you are. It is purely to help trace the spread of COVID-19.
